Long before I ever built my first website, I was on the ground in Boracay Island, welcoming travelers at the jetty port and managing day-to-day operations for independent guest houses and luxury spas. Later, when I stepped in to help market and manage a friend’s transient house in my hometown, I encountered the harsh reality independent hosts face.
